Hi, my name, well my
moniker you shall know me by is 'The
Voice' and from now on I shall
be presenting the news, the rumours and the official
line from Toby Jepson headquarters. I am not privy to
all information and from time to time I will get it wrong,
but Toby has charged me with the task of keeping you
lot up to date with developments, if you have contrary
info or a rumour you want verifying, looking into etc,
please contact me at the usual address: mail@tobyjepson.com and
I will endeavour to shed my divine light on whatever
it is...for now, read on...
I’ve
just come off the phone with Toby and have I got some exciting
news for you guys.
First
and foremost, I’m very pleased to announce that Toby will be
the guest singer for Fastway. This involves several European festival appearances including the
Tuborg Stage at Download (www.downloadfestival.co.uk)
on Sunday 10th June 2007.
For
those of you who don’t recognise the name; Fastway were formed
by former Motörhead guitarist ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke. They
reformed in early 2007 with John "Harv" Harbinson (Stormzone),
Steve Strange and John McManus (Mama's Boys) joining the
line-up.We’re not
sure exactly what happened to Harv but he left leaving a vacancy
for Mr Jepson.
The dates are to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of
Fastway.
Toby
said “I am delighted
to be involved and honoured to be invited to sing with Fastway,
however this is no way is a career plan.I am focussed, dedicated and driven by my own solo
career.I have had detailed discussions with the management of the
FASTWAY camp and have let them know that I have a solo career
in development that I have commitment to and will continue to
pursue…I see this project with FASTWAY as a great second
string, it allows me to work with other musicians on material
that isn’t mine and so stretches me as a vocalist and allows
me to simply concentrate on the singing…it looks like it
will be a lot of fun and I intend to enjoy it…we have
already had a couple of rehearsals and it sounded great,
Eddie is on top form so I think the shows will be very cool,
however, the Chepstow show and the September tour is still of
the highest priority for me and I cant wait to get back in the
studio in July to record the next EP so all is as it should
be…"
Ovation
(http://www.ovationguitars.com) have kindly agreed to sponsor
Toby and Dean on their acoustic radio tour which is currently
being prepared – expected the duo to hit the airwaves around
the middle of July.This
