Yep! It is nearly here, rehearsals have begun, bags are (nearly) packed and waiting in the hall way, guitars sharpened and tickets flying out the door. THUNDER, TOBY and ROADSTAR are going to rock your world in a little under 4 weeks so if you have not got your tickets yet, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN??????
There is still time though, with a few tickets left at most venues so get your dancing shoes on and head out on the superhighway and book yourself a couple, just go to the live page on the site and the links will take you to the outlets.
At going to press it was confirmed by Tobe’s office that the Fender guitar company have agreed to make Tobe an artist endorsee! This will mean a long term partnership to include press stuff and potentially performances as well as trade show appearances. Tobe commented “it’s great; I am really pleased that a great company like fender have seen fit to take me on! I have played their guitars ever since the beginning and so they are no stranger, but it is such a compliment…”
It was revealed today that Tobe and Townsend records have been in talks with Universal to put together a comprehensive DVD package for release shortly after the THUNDER dates. No details of what exactly will be contained within, but Tobe had this to say… “It will most likely be a 3 disc box set to include some retrospective Angels stuff as well as rarities and unseen footage gathered from all corners. I have been trying to do this for sometime, but I wanted it to be as good as poss and it has taken quite a bit of negotiation to get us to this point. One thing I can tell you is that there will a disc entirely devoted to my solo career taking in everything from The WHOLE TRUTH period up to present day. I recorded over 3 hours of interview footage with a production company a week or so ago and I am scheduling some more with me and Nick playing some acoustic tracks, some of which will be new songs! watch this space…”
Coolio, and I for one cannot wait for that!
Tobe has revealed that he is in talks with a high profile American artist, as yet no name, for potential touring commitments later next year! He wouldn’t be drawn on what exactly but had a huge grin on his face so it sounds promising….
NEW ALBUM UPDATE…
Tobe has told me that he and Nick have already got together to start rattling through some ideas for the next record due out next year (TBC natch) The general feeling I got was that it was to be a balls out rock album with ‘no messin’ apparently…I think this is great news and a strong indication of this was on REFRESH, and I for one think that the rock tracks on there could be a great blue print for a complete record…YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
