TOBY CONFESSES
March 5th 2007

It’s hard to know where to start…couple that with the fact that this ‘blog thing’ is new to me and I have a problem…ok; I can usually talk for England just ask my friends and family, but this is different. In my head right now, as I type, it feels like I’m stood at the edge of a huge interstate, with all the things I have to do, think about, achieve, get finished on time, delegate (yeah right) rushing past disguised as fast cars, with me unable to grab hold of one of them or even to step out and try to reach the other side…

Needless to say I have a lot to do.

Here’s the problem: How do I:

(A)    Re-launch a career that once saw me in the charts, playing sold out shows and all that goes
  with it…

(B)     Record the vocals for the new tracks me and the band have recently recorded that will aid (A)

(C)    Complete all the required copy for the re-launch of my website that will also aid (A) and be the

place where (B) will be available

(D)    Come up with a decent album title and art concept for (B) that will make (A) more achievable….

(E)     Organise the edit of my first solo DVD (I shall not go into that as it gets me quite riled…)

(F)     Entertain 3 kids and help my wife with all things domestic?????

Oh Christ you get the picture…

Ok, so I am lucky enough to even be in this position I know that, but the work load is huge. It used to be that I would lay around in my spandex waiting for my manager to ring and to tell me where to turn up! Now it is me organising the release schedules (not certain yet but looking like the first recordings will be out early March) and working with the agent to sort out where exactly we will be touring in 2007 (March/April, summer shows, September/October and some Christmas specials) as well as making sure the most important thing THE MUSIC is right!!!!!

Still, I have a great team around me and thankfully most of the on-line stuff is being dealt with by greater brains than mine so thank heavens for small mercies.

Throughout the course of these ramblings I will be introducing all the characters that surround this operation and heaping appropriate praise or scorn on each one of them, because it isn’t just about me. The folk that inhabit the back room are really the ones that make it happen. The passion they all feel for this is equal to mine no question and without them I would not exist as an artist.
